In 2024 alone, Chennai-based startups have secured over $795 million in funding across 95 rounds, showcasing the city’s rising prominence in the deeptech space. Success stories like Agnikul Cosmos and Ather Energy, both nurtured by IIT Madras, have become benchmarks for innovation, further fueling VC interest. The institute’s incubation ecosystem has supported over 457 startups in the past 12 years, with 104 deeptech ventures incubated in the financial year 2024-25 alone.
