About Firecrawl
Firecrawl is the easiest way to extract data from the web. Developers use us to reliably convert URLs into LLM-ready markdown or structured data with a single API call. In just a year, we’ve hit millions in ARR and 43k+ GitHub stars by building the fastest way for developers to get LLM-ready data.
Previously, we built Mendable, one of the first commercially available “chat with your data” applications. We sold to companies like MongoDB, Coinbase, Snapchat, and more. To do this, we spent a surprising amount of time building reliable infrastructure for getting clean data from the web. When we started to see our founding friends rebuilding the same thing, we thought we might be on to something.
Why Firecrawl
- Technical ownership – Lead critical browser technology and infrastructure
- Real impact – Directly shape how our browser stack drives our entire product
- High velocity – Rapid iteration and deployment of your work
- Small team, big ambition – Collaborate closely with founders, influencing key decisions and future directions
About the Role
In just a year, we’ve hit millions in ARR and 43k+ GitHub stars by building the fastest way for developers to get LLM-ready data. We’re a small, fast-moving team building essential tools for the AI era. We value autonomy, clarity, and shipping fast.
We're looking for a part time Technical Writer/Editor to help polish our content and get it live on our developer blog. You'll add helpful visuals, test code snippets to make sure they work, and handle the technical bits of publishing. If you enjoy making content clearer and more helpful for readers, we'd love to chat!
What You’ll Do
- Edit & Polish Content Take draft blog posts and tutorials and transform them into clear, engaging pieces that developers will find genuinely helpful
- Work with MDX Files Edit content directly in MDX format, managing frontmatter, components, and markdown syntax
- Add Visual Elements Find or create screenshots and images that make complex topics easier to understand. Design simple blog cover photos using our existing Figma templates (we'll show you how!)
- Test Code Examples Run through Python and TypeScript snippets occasionally to make sure they actually work—no coding required, just copy-paste testing
- Preview Content Locally Check how posts look on a test version of our site before they go live (we'll walk you through the setup)
- Publish via GitHub Use GitHub Desktop to submit finished content to our website—it's easier than it sounds, and we'll train you!
- Keep Things Moving Help manage multiple pieces of content at different stages, ensuring nothing gets stuck
Who You Are
- Strong English Writing Skills — You write clearly and know how to make technical topics approachable
- Eye for Detail — You naturally spot typos and awkward phrasing that needs smoothing out
- Tech-Curious — You don't need to be a developer, but you're comfortable learning new tools
- Basic Design Sense — You can work with templates in Figma to create nice-looking blog headers
- Organized Approach — You like having a system and keeping track of what needs to be done
- Independent Worker — You're comfortable figuring things out and asking questions when stuck
Bonus Points
- Have edited technical or educational content before
- Maintain your own blog or have contributed to online publications
- Can share examples of content you've improved or created
- Have used GitHub before (but we can teach you if not!)
- Understand basic programming concepts (even if you can't code)
- Enjoy making complex information more accessible
What it means to join Firecrawl
- High Leverage — Your processes directly amplify our growth.
- Autonomy — Own your domain; we care about outcomes, not hours.
- Remote-First Culture — Work from your favorite coffee shop, home office, or anywhere with WiFi
- Growth Opportunity — Early equity and a role that scales with the company.
- Creative Freedom — Experiment with new channels, formats, and automations. If it works, we run with it.
Benefits & Perks
- Salary that makes sense — $50,000–$70,000, based on impact, not tenure
- Take a break (seriously) — Unlimited PTO, minimum of 3 weeks off
- Gear up — Get the tools you need to do your best work, no approvals circus
- Wellness stipend — Use it for the gym, therapy, or whatever keeps you human
- SF HQ perks — If you're visiting SF, snacks, drinks, lunches, and the occasional chaotic energy
- Team offsites — A change of scenery, minus the trust falls
- Sabbatical — 3 paid months off after 4 years, do something fun and new
